Janelle | Lead Photographer & Digital Marketer
Janelle is the photographer and creative director behind Miss Friend Photography & Digital Marketing, a professional photography and branding studio based in Northern Alberta in the County of Grande Prairie. She specializes in story-driven photography that captures connection, confidence, and authentic moments for individuals and businesses.
With a bold, creative approach rooted in real storytelling, Janelle works with small businesses, entrepreneurs, families, couples, and individuals. Her services include branding photography, lifestyle portraits, family photography, pin-up photography, pole dance photography, and event photography. Each session is thoughtfully curated to create meaningful, visually compelling imagery that reflects her clients’ personalities and stories.
Janelle began pursuing photography part time in 2015, building her business alongside full-time work before transitioning to full-time photography and digital marketing in 2023. She holds a Digital Marketing Certificate from the University of Alberta (2023–2024), allowing her to support clients through both visual storytelling and strategic online marketing.
An internationally (U.S.) and nationally published lifestyle and pin-up photographer, Janelle is known for her vintage-inspired pin-up sessions and editorial-style imagery. While based in Northern Alberta, she regularly travels to Southern Alberta, including Calgary and Drumheller, for collaborative projects, themed sessions, and events in partnership with True North Pin Up Magazine.
Outside of her professional work, Janelle is a living kidney donor, reflecting her strong commitment to community and giving back. She has created charity retro calendars, raising over $6,000 for the Kidney Foundation of Canada and Alberta Ronald McDonald House. She also donates her time as an event photographer for World of Wheels and Boogie in the Badlands, collaborating with True North Pin Up Magazine for the past three years.
A passionate advocate for small businesses, women-owned brands, and confidence-building photography, Janelle believes in empowering people through art at every stage of life. Her work blends creativity, storytelling, and connection to help clients feel seen, celebrated, and confident in front of the camera.
Keri | Creative Coordinator & Creative Assistant
Keri is a marketing and tourism professional, creative producer, and the founder of True North Pin Up, a Canadian platform dedicated to vintage culture, pin-up artistry, and community empowerment. Based in Drumheller, Alberta, Keri is known for creating bold, experience-driven projects that blend storytelling, visual art, and meaningful community impact.
Through True North Pin Up, Keri has built an inclusive and empowering space for vintage enthusiasts while also championing women’s initiatives through the Heels & Hearts Initiative. Her work spans event production, fundraising, brand development, editorial content, and experiential marketing, with every project rooted in creativity, collaboration, and purpose.
Keri’s creative partnership with Janelle of Miss Friend Photography has resulted in some of the most recognizable collaborations within Canada’s vintage and pin-up scene. Together, they have produced:
Vintage-inspired activations at major automotive events including World of Wheels and Boogie in the Badlands, blending classic cars with pin-up culture
Nationally recognized pin-up calendar collaborations that modernize vintage style with a distinctly Canadian perspective

Through work with Travel Drumheller, Keri and Janelle have helped shape the region’s visual identity, showcasing the Badlands through strategic photography, creative direction, and engaging campaign content that supports local tourism and economic growth.
Based in Drumheller, Keri provides on-the-ground team support for Drumheller and Calgary-based signature sessions, strengthening Miss Friend Photography’s regional reach. From car shows and calendars to tourism campaigns and editorial art, Keri and Janelle continue to demonstrate how creative collaboration, strategic marketing, and a shared love of vintage culture can create lasting impact.
Amy | Hair & Make Up Artist
Amy is a professional hair and make-up artist supporting Miss Friend Photography for signature photography sessions in Grande Prairie and the surrounding area. With a strong eye for detail and a client-first approach, she specializes in camera-ready hair and makeup that enhances natural features and helps clients feel confident, polished, and comfortable in front of the camera.
Amy’s work spans portrait photography, branding sessions, pin-up photography, editorial shoots, and live performance work, ensuring each look complements the creative vision while holding up beautifully on camera and under stage lighting. Her calm presence and thoughtful artistry allow clients to relax and fully enjoy the experience.
In addition to her work in photography, Amy is involved in the Grande Prairie Live Theatre community, both on stage and behind the scenes. Her experience in theatrical hair and makeup brings a strong understanding of character, storytelling, and performance to every project she touches.
A professional by day and a devoted mother and spouse, Amy is known for her warmth, positivity, and genuine care for others. Her supportive energy leaves a lasting impression on clients, performers, and collaborators alike.

Tneshia | Creative Director & Set Designer
Based in Northern Alberta, Tneshia is the Creative Assistant, Creative Director, and Set Designer behind the immersive visuals of Miss Friend Photography. As a vital member of the team, she brings a strong creative vision, hands-on craftsmanship, and collaborative energy to every photoshoot.
Working closely with Miss Friend, Tneshia leads the set design and creative development process, collaborating from concept to final frame to build unique, story-driven environments. Her work elevates each session by transforming ideas into layered, visually rich spaces that enhance storytelling and client experience.
Born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Tneshia has a lifelong passion for visual storytelling and world-building. She believes every space has the potential to tell a story, and her creative approach focuses on crafting immersive, often surreal environments while guiding models into character to capture moments that feel alive and expressive.
Tneshia frequently travels with Miss Friend to Southern Alberta for signature sessions and collaborative projects, bringing her distinctive creative flair to each location. Her ability to seamlessly move between design, direction, and on-set support makes her an invaluable asset to the Miss Friend Photography team.
Before working in professional set design, Tneshia developed her meticulous attention to detail through costume creation for Comic Cons, where every stitch, prop, and accessory mattered. This background continues to influence her work today, ensuring each set and concept is thoughtfully executed.
Her creative journey has also been shaped by her time working with Festival Mural in Montreal, where she collaborated with artists and experienced firsthand how intentional design and small details can completely transform a space.
Known for her kind heart, collaborative spirit, and positive energy, Tneshia is a natural team builder and creative partner. She occasionally steps in front of the camera herself, modeling to help bring a vision fully to life when needed.
Today, Tneshia blends her love of art, set design, storytelling, and human connection into every project. Whether designing an elaborate set, refining a model’s pose, or supporting the creative flow on set, she is always chasing the moment where creativity meets emotion and leaves a lasting impression.
